The programme for this year's festival is particularly diverse, featuring a range of musical styles from Baroque to jazz improvisation and silent film music. The opening concert of the festival showcas a sophisticated and intellectually engaging programme, 'Duettissimo', performed by cellist Gleb Pyšniak and violinist Dalia Dėdinskaitė. These artists are the face and pride of the festival.
On 25 June, the programme will feature a piano ‘Duo Maclé’ from Italy, formed by Sabrina Dente and Annamaria Garibaldi. The audience will be guided through a labyrinth of imagination and reality. A reflection of the diverse inspirations of authors, their musical ideas, styles, visions and influences.
On 2 July, the Baroque Ensemble ‘Réunion de Musiciens’ from Italy, formed by the flautist Vincenzo Lai and harpsichordist Nijolė Dorotėja Beniušytė, will offer a selection of Italian Baroque music that is unparalleled in its richness and depth. This repertoire has left a significant and enduring impact on the musical landscape of Europe. The programme's core consists of works for flute and harpsichord, instruments that were particularly favoured by 18th-century composers.
On 29 October, 'Journey to the Moon' will pay tribute to the art of silent cinema. Italian pianist Livio Minafra will perform a unique blend of jazz and modal harmonies, transporting the audience to the moon and celebrating the legacy of French silent film genius George Méliès.
The festival will conclude on 5 November with a performance by the Duo Gian Marco Ciampa – Erica Piccotti, winners of the main prize at the prestigious ‘LazioSound’ music competition in Italy, renowned for showcasing the talents of cello and guitar virtuosos.
